剧情介绍
1911年5月，腐败的清政府为维护其摇摇欲坠的统治，把原本属于四川人民的川汉铁路抵押给美、英、法、德四国银行大举外债。这一无耻行径激起了全川人民的愤怒，各地纷纷成立保路同志会，作为南充县股东代表的张澜会同保路同志会的其他领导人，以破约保路为宗旨向官府提出强烈抗议，清政府总督赵尔丰悍然逮捕张澜等领导人，张澜等人被囚之后，成都震动，数万名市民自发地到督署门前请愿。赵尔丰命令清兵向门外的民众开枪，在混乱当中，有数十名无辜的百姓死于非命，这一惨案直接引发了省内的暴动，清政府遂派督办铁路大臣端方率湖北新军数千人入川解围，同情革命的新军途中发生兵变，赵尔丰被迫释放张澜等保路同志会的领导人。
